Thomas Peoples of Oklahoma City has been with Hirschbach for two years. He says his career as a lease purchase operator has been very positive. He drives a 2007 Volvo 780 with a Thermo King TriPac generator unit installed. "What I really like is that the people here know me on a first name basis. I like the payroll department, the log department, the people in general," he said. "My payroll has always been right on the money." Peoples' truck sports a unique large American flag decal and he enjoys keeping the rig spotless. When maintenance is required Peoples knows it will be done fast and right. "They are very efficient," he said.

Richie Richardson is an owner operator living in Galena, Illinois who has been with the company for seven years. He drives a Kenworth and is dispatched out of Hirschbach's East Dubuque, Illinois office. "I've known terminal manager, John Kalb, for over 20 years. I have no complaints, really," Richardson said. "I really like the office help there," Richardson noted, "I really do well there."

David Clark is a company driver who has driven for Hirschbach for five years. He drives a 2005 Freightliner Columbia. Clark runs the Midwest and Southeastern states. "I love it," he said enthusiastically. About the company Clark said, "It's been great. Before I came here I was changing jobs every year-and-a-half." Now he's stayed put for five years and says he hopes to stay many more. "The dispatchers work with you. I stay busy and I just enjoy the company," he said. Another great feature of working for Hirschbach, he pointed out, is that "when I want to get home, they get me home."

Craig Dutschmann of Nederland, Texas is a lease purchase operator with three years behind the wheel of a Hirschbach Motor Lines truck. He's driving a 2005 Volvo and Hirschbach is the second trucking company he's worked for. "Everyone's so friendly. They treat you like family here," Dutschmann said, adding, "I get good miles." The last company Dutschmann worked for wasn't as people oriented, he stated. He said "they treated you like a number." Dutschmann likes Hirschbach so much he's trying to turn his involvement with us into a family affair. "I'm trying to get my brother on board as a dispatcher," he said.

Ken Aten is an owner operator from Virginia. He runs a 1999 Kenworth T600 from the Midwest to the Northeast and has been with the company since 2001. "I enjoy working out of the Midwest. It's good paying freight and it's steady," Aten said. Along with his own tractor Aten also brought his own refrigerated trailer on with Hirschbach. "I get paid a percentage of the load and I get a great fuel surcharge," he pointed out. Another great benefit of working at Hirschbach, Aten said, is that people at all levels of the company are accessible to the driver. "I know I can walk in and see who I need to," he stated. "I like the people here at the South Sioux City office and in Dubuque. They are very receptive folks. You've got to find where you fit in and I fit in here at Hirschbach," Aten concluded.
